From the Principal, Mr. Chris McGuiness
On behalf of the staff and students, welcome to St. Barbara Catholic School!
I am blessed to serve as the principal of St. Barbara School and I am more confident than ever about the value and importance of Catholic education. Here at St. Barbara, we pride ourselves in offering small class sizes to provide faith-based education in a loving and nurturing environment. We promote spiritual growth, coupled with character development and opportunities to be involved in programs that support the development of the whole person. As a staff, we are committed to academic excellence and strive to bring out the very best in each of our students to set them up for success inside and outside the classroom.
As a Catholic school, we put the greatest importance in our faith and Catholic identity through weekly celebration of the Eucharist, regular participation in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Sacrament preparation, observance of Holy Days, community service and daily prayer. The curriculum reflects the Church’s teachings and Catholic family values. Our faith is at the heart of our school’s mission.
St. Barbara students are encouraged to participate in programs outside the classroom, including a wide variety of athletic teams, arts, technology, music ministry, and cultural celebrations. Our students are equipped with both iPads and chromebooks for aiding in instruction, and our dedicated and qualified teachers ignite our community with loving and supportive classrooms.
As a mission of St. Barbara Church, the school works collaboratively with the parish to ensure our families are active members of the parish family. Our school size allows our students and families to be a priority, and the feeling of belonging is evident in all we do.
