St. Barbara Catholic School proudly recognizes the efforts and achievements of our students. Recognition encourages our students to model to their peers values of hard work, self-discipline, self-motivation, and responsibility. 

Student of the Month 
Every month, each homeroom teacher recognizes a student who demonstrate Christian values along with consistently good class work and responsibility. Their pictures are posted in the lobby. Student of the Month Certificates and Free Meal Certificates from local restaurants are given to the honored students.

Academic Recognition
Students are recognized at the end of the trimester and end of year at an awards assembly attended by students, faculty, staff, and parents with the following awards given: 

HONOR ROLL – Students must have A or A- in all subject areas, work habits/study skills and responsible behavior.
MERIT ROLL – Students must have A’s and B’s in all subject areas, work habits/study skills and responsible behavior.
MOST IMPROVED – These certificates are awarded to students showing outstanding improvement in all subjects 
READING AWARDS - Certificates, ribbons, and trophies are awarded based on cumulative year totals of reading points and books read.
SHINING STAR AWARDS - Certificates are presented to our young learners in TK and Kindergarten for progress in academic fields and for responsible behavior.

Perpetual Plaques
Found in the school office lobby, the perpetual plaques honor graduating 8th Graders as Valedictorian and Salutatorian, Most Improved, Best Reader, and Athletes of the Year. The Faculty Award recognizes a student who best represents the Catholic Faith, service to others, and exemplifies the model student. The St. Barbara Award is a special recognition for a student who overcomes difficulties and adversity to reach his/her full potential.

Spelling and Math Bees 
All students participate in the classroom preliminaries to choose the top 6 students from each grade level who will participate in the finals of the Spelling and Math Bees held in May. First place trophies and 2nd and 3rd place ribbons are awarded at the May Parents Association meeting.

Service Awards
End of year service awards are given to those students who model Christ and make a difference in this world through actions in their school, Church and community. 

Attendance
Students who have no tardies or absences during the trimester and/or during the school year will be recognized with a Perfect Attendance certificate.

Sports Banquet
To recognize the time and dedication required to be a St. Barbara Celtic, a sports banquet is held in May. All student athletes receive certificates
of participation. Trophies are presented for teams that take first in league.
Coaches awards are also given to outstanding players who exemplify leadership skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Athlete of the Year is given to the top boy and girl athlete who maintains his/her grades and exemplifies quality traits throughout 7th and 8th grades.
